Hi Dr Roseff,

For someone like me who wants a kid but my DH is not ready yet, pls adv if the idea of getting IVF done with my own eggs+dh's sperm and freeze the emb till such time dh is ready for a baby would be a good idea?
Can the FE survive for say 3years and then can I hv a successful pregnancy ueing the same FE?
I am 43 and dh is 56yrs.

Hi,

You may want to consider having "ovarian reserve" testing done first/now. As a broad generalization, the egg quality, as well as the embryo quality/quantity in an average 43 year old is often quite poor. There also may be some sperm issues in a 56 year old man....

As fertility is often poor after the age of 40 in a female, waiting longer than now (at age 43) may be fraught with failure (except for using a young donor's eggs).
