I was just wondering what kind of tests are done to determine a woman's infertility. I want to know if i'm able to have children and I would like to know what kind of tests are done and how much they cost. If someone could please help...

Estradiol must be done at the same time as FSH -- Was it done?

Thyroid is a hormone that can affect who gets pregnant and/or stays pregnant. Consider seeing a fertility specialist....

Did you have a cycle day 3 FSH/E2 blood test done? --- I did the home test for FSH and everything was ok -- of course this was AFTER surgery to unblock my tubes (both) What is the thyroid and other test you are speaking of?

Should I have the blood test done ?

    Hi,

Your doctor is mistaken. There are other tests. For example:

    a) Did you have a cycle day 3 FSH/E2 blood test done?
    b) Thyroid? Prolactin?
    c) Did your husband have his sperm morphology analyzed by the Kruger, or strict criteria?
    d) What was your uterine cavity like on the HSG?
    e) Most patients don't get tested for endometriosis or PCOS unless they have a history suggestive of those particular problems.

Consider seeing a board certified reproductive endocrinologist for more comprehensive testing -- If you've been ttc for 4-5 years there's very likely something or some things in your way!!!

    General Infertility

I am not sure where to post *general* threads and would be greatful if someone could direct me!!! I get all the medical stuff, but is there a thread where people are talking about they psychological issues of not being able to conceive? You know, seeing women, strangers, friends, relatives, whomever, pregnant, and KNOWING the odds of that being YOU are slim to none?? Any threads like that??
