Democratic Rep. Kendrick Meek plans to hand in more than 130,000 signatures to qualify for the Florida Senate ballot, skipping the filing fee in what Democrats hope will be perceived as a show of organizing strength. "I thought it was very, very important that the people of the state of Florida place my name on the ballot to be the next U.S. senator," Meek said.
