I just got home from my doctor's appointment. He wrote out a plan for me to start a fresh IVF cycle after Passover since I don't have any frozen embryos left. I got all my questions answered so I feel really good about that. Last time we saw him, we waited two hours and then the appointment was barely five minutes. I felt like bursting into tears afterwards. This time, we *only* waited a little over an hour(!!!) and when he started to get up after writing everything out, I politely but assertively said that I wasn't finished asking everything. Yay me!
So I have a prescription for birth control pills (ironic!) so we can have some control over when I will get my period and start the cycle. I am very irregular and can sometimes go four months between cycles. I also said how nervous I get before each procedure and asked for a prescription for valium for before the retrieval and before the transfer. He gave me that too (although he said to take it the night before, which seems really wierd to me - will it still have an effect in the morning?)
However, even though everything is set with him (I do have to call the nurse on Sunday -- I saw the doctor during his private hours after the IVF clinic was closed,) we are still not 100% positive that we are up for this again. We also have to bring the referral from the doctor to our health insurance to see how much (if anything) they will cover. That will likely be a very big deciding factor as well. They did cover half of the FET charges so I am hoping they'll cover half of the fresh cycle as well.
So that's my news. Any one else have anything to share?
