New York State Democratic Chairman Jay Jacobs convened an impromptu press conference immediately after Governor David Paterson's departure from the press room in his Midtown office, "Andrew Cuomo is going to be our nominee," Jacobs said, saying Cuomo would choose his own timing. "I would suspect there wil be rapid movement to Cuomo," he said. "I will be endorsing him. He's the natural choice." Paterson was also asked about Cuomo, who is investigating the governor's conduct, and appeared to pledge his support.
