House Speaker Nancy Pelosi plans to raise money for Rep. Carol Shea-Porter, traveling to Boston to help the second-term Democrat at a Friday reception at The Liberty Hotel on Beacon Hill. The National Republican Congressional Committee responded to Pelosi's trip, saying the event was "a nice reward for Shea-Porter's unwavering loyalty to Nancy Pelosi's tax-and-spend agenda." But the New Hampshire Democratic Party countered, saying that Shea-Porter "has been an independent voice in Congress and will continue to fight for the best interests of her constituents."
