Dems audition in Massa district

Democrats have started interviewing candidates to run in former Democratic Rep. Eric Massa's vacant New York district. Contenders include businessman David Nachbar, Assemblyman David Koon and Paterson aide Mary Wilmot. Republicans have coalesced around former Corning Mayor Tom Reid as their likely nominee, but the Democrats still face a drawn-out selection process. Steuben County Democratic Chairman Shawn Hogan said Monday's meeting of local officials was "long and arduous," and the party leaders hope to whittle down the list of candidates over the next week.
