New York Gov. David Paterson sounds like he may be backtracking on a possible special election to fill former Democratic Rep. Eric Massa's seat in Congress. Though Paterson previously said he'd call a vote, a spokeswoman for the governor said Wednesday that Paterson has "some serious concerns about the financial impact that a special election could have on the county level." Democrats still don't have a candidate to run in the district, while Republicans have rallied behind Corning Mayor Tom Reed's campaign.
