Four Mainers on track for public funds

Four candidates running for governor are expected to qualify for public financing, the Kennebec Journal reports. Republican state Sen. Peter Mills, Democratic state Senate President Libby Mitchell and former Democratic state lawmaker Patrick McGowan have already met the eligibility requirement, and former Democratic official John Richardson plans to do so today.
