Legislator to run for Stupak seat

Republican state Sen. Jason Allen is preparing to enter the race to succeed retiring Democratic Rep. Bart Stupak, Allen's chief of staff told Interlochen Public Radio. The announcement is expected later this week. Allen's Traverse City home is not within the 1st District, but he represents several of the district's counties in the state Senate.
