  • Advocacy and Support Meetup Groups

Here are a couple meetup groups that we've recently joined. Not sure how active these are, but hopefully something will be scheduled soon!

Please reply with other groups that may be helpful.

Parent support and advocacy groups help a lot of parents. Over the last 20+ years many very good ones have formed and have helped a lot of parents.

One that I am associated with is the Council of Parent Attorneys and Advocates (COPAA). COPAA has well over 1,000 members who are a mixture of parents, advocates, and special education attorneys. One of the useful features of COPAA is its discussion group, which is active 24 hours a day. You can find this organization at http://www.copaa.org.

Something I can suggest about support and advocacy groups is select one that is actively involved in genuine support and education opportunities for the members.
