  • Long cycles

    Hi-

    Couple of quick questions-

I'm 29y and I've been off OCPs since 5/08, and have had 5 periods since (ranging from 38-46 days) and had always had normal 30ish day cycles prior to OCP. Can I expect my cycles to become shorter?

Also, TTC since 8/08 and using OPKs. Have typically been detecting LH surge on cd28-29 with luteal phase of 11-14d. Is bleeding 11 days after detecting LH surge too short?

Had normal day 3 labs, normal semen analysis. Hoping to concieve sooner rather than later due to anticipated change in job in 18mo. Is there anything else I should be doing/checking at this point?

    Thanks.

    Hi,
You should consider seeing a board certified RE. It's NOT normal to have 38-46 day cycles or to surge on cd28-29. An 11 day luteal phase is short. I highly recommend you see a qualified RE, as your history can make it harder to get pregnant and increase the risk of miscarriage should pregnancy occur.
    I hope this helps....
