  • Pregnancy after 3 ectopics?

I had a ruptured ectopic in 1995, then my daughter was born. Soon followed my son. I know I am very lucky and thank my blessings every day for my children. I have since left the abusive relationship with my childrens' dad and have remarried to a wonderful man who I have been with since they were babies, almost ten years now. We want children together very badly. I have had 2 ectopics with my husband and one of them ruptured...which makes a total of 3 ectopics now. I still have both of my tubes. Do I HAVE to go through IVF, or could I continue to try? My OB says that my tubes are sticky...but I have gotten pregnant on the first try each time, it's just too expensive for IVF and I am hoping there is another way. Any ideas?

Discuss the possibility of having an HSG done with your doctor. An HSG evaluates the fallopian tubes and at least tells us if a tube "appears" normal or not. It doesn't tell us, though, if the tubes "function" properly or not. However, it's a good start.

Make sure to ask if antibiotic treatment would apply to you before, during, and/or after the test.

    Hope this helps....
