  • worried about oversuppression

    Dear Dr. Roseff,

I think I am asking this question too late, because cycle starts tomorrrow.

However, it is an MDL cycle and I am supposed to take 20units lupron twice a day, after being on BCP for 21 days.

I am worried I will be oversuppressed what dose lupron would you recommend in this protocol? I will be taking 300 gonal-f and 150 menopur, I am 38 and AFC was 11 a couple weeks ago.

    Thank you.

    Hi,

Our MDL flare protocol is 20 bid. I've found that Ganirelix works as well and patients don't have to do as many injections.... I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!

Does bid mean twice a day?

20 twice a day is what I'm doing. If that's the same as you guys use then I am at least a little reassured.

I didn't know ganirelix could work too, that does sound easier but a little too late for that now probably.

Thank you for answering and for the good wishes!!

okay, bid DOES mean twice a day

I should have looked it up but got lazy I guess.

Anyhow, I am glad to know this is not some terribly high amount. Thanks again for this board.

20 units Microdose Lupron bid and weight

          Dear Dr. Roseff,

Thank you for responding to this post the other day, but I have come up with one more related question.

I am doing remote cycling so my RE has never seen me in person.

I did not tell him that I am on the small side & my body mass index is around 19-20. My question to you is would that make a difference if you were setting protocol and would you then prescribe less than 20 units microdose lupron 2x a day?

I have just started dosage and it could still be lowered, so I am thinking of discussing with RE. Thank you.

The dosage of Lupron for a microdose flare regimen doesn't change based on BMI.

            Good luck!
