  • I need advice....

I had a difficult time getting pregnant in the past, I dont ovulate on a monthly basis. I had lost a baby at twenty weeks, lost twins (one at 6 weeks and one at 13wks). My third pregnancy had a cervical cerclage placed at twelve wks. My daughter was born at 24wks. The cerclage ripped through my cervix. I have waited five yrs to try again to have another child due to the emotional and physical stress and handicaps. My uterus is backwards and last summer I began bleeding and hemmoraging for 8 mos. They gave me provera to stop it which didnt work too well. Eventually, it stopped. The dr I was seeing was moved to a higher position and I had to go see another dr recently because the bleeding and clotting started again in January and lasted until June. She suggested pcos. She did a biopsy and a hysteroscopy, an mri and ultrasounds. I was scheduled for a d&c and removal of a polyp. I also have a septate wall in my uterus. Now the results are that I have complex hyperplasia with atypia. Dr suggests a hysterectomy if I dont want anymore children and since I do want another child she is giving me a higher dosage of hormones and I need to lose weight and exercise. With all of this my cervix is still weak and doesnt close, even when she puts the clamp in to do a procedure. I guess my questions are what should I do, I know everybody has a different opinion, but as much as I want another child I dont want to get cancer either. What are my risks, I cant find any research to support either decision and I cant find out how long it takes for this condition to evolve into cancer. I dont know if I am in the right forum, but maybe you can help me or advise me on where to go.

Your best bet may lie in a consultation with a qualified Gyn Oncologist. He/she can go over your likely risks for progression to cancer and your treatment options. Most major hospitals or universities have Gyn Oncologists on staff.

    All my best,
