varying response to medication

In my 2nd cycle with Clomid/Tamoxifen, 7 follicles matured and the cycle had to be stopped. This was really different from my first cycle at same medication level which produced 3 mature follicles. Is this normal? What circumstances might cause variation in response to oral medication?

Day 3 FSH is 5.8, estradiol 81. Day 10 FSH is 7.5.

Clomid AND tamoxifen?? How unusual....

The number of stimulated follicles can and often do vary from cycle to cycle for reasons that are not well understood. It may have to do with the varying number of antral follicles seen before taking the medication.
