  • Breastfeeding- annovulatory

I do not know if this is the appropriate place to post this. I am breastfeeding my son who is now 8 months old. I have tried all the 'tricks' to get my first post partum period back into action and nothing has worked. Because I am a teacher and trying to plan for a summer baby we would really like to conceive soon. Is there anything that my OBGYN can prescribe to help me out but that would not harm my child?

When you breast feed, your blood prolactin levels go high (to produce milk). High prolactin levels can suppress ovulation and therefore menses.

    Hope this helps,
