    Hello everyone,

I am new to this so please bare with me. I am a single 37 year old women thinking about trying to conceive through donor insemination early next year.

I've had cycle issues since I was a teen and was placed on bcp in my early 20's to regulate my cycle. In 2006, I was diagnosed with PCOS and the nurse placed me on Glucophage and the pill once again to regulate my cycle (even though I warned her I had a histroy of DVT from my early 20's). A few weeks later, I was admitted to the ER with a DVT and PE. I almost died and was told I could never take the pill again. I am a Coumadin taker for life due to having repeat DVT's even while on Coumadin since 2006.

My question...I am concerned that since I may still have issues with ovulating regularly how will I be able to conceive? I know I cannot go on Clomid or any other fertility drug...so what will be my options?

Should I consult a reproductiv endocronologists or perinatologist? I'm so confused and I just want to conceive a child before I am too old to do so.

Thank you for any help you can offer.

    Hi,

Glad you asked, and welcome! You need to see both an RE and Perinatologist. The RE can go over options (if any) for ovulation induction, while the Peri can go over the severe risks you (and your baby) will potentially face if and when pregnant.

    Hope this helps,
