    Hi Dr Roseff,

I have got my FSH tested thrice in the past but my RE adv to get it done again this year as it does change.

1.What I need to know is that, does the fsh change to higher value or lower value with time in a span of one-two years or it should remain approx the same?

2.Also, my re adv to get Torch - Igm , IgG test done (which are expensive)- Is this test really required as I am just getting a feeling that my re only wants to get tests done to raise the bills!!

Thanks in advance for your reply.

    Hi,
    To answer:
    1. It varies. FSH can go a bit lower (though generally not significantly) and certainly can go higher. The odds of it go higher as a woman ages, of course. So, for example, it generally doesn't change much from age 25 to 27 (2 year span), but it can change horrifically in the 2 years from ages 40 to 42.
    2. I stopped doing TORCH studies about 15 years ago!!!
