Hello Dr. Roseff,
My cycle is 28-29 days in length. According to my OPKs, I'm reading an Lh surge within the range of days 19-21, depending on the month. During this, I was breastfeeding my son, one time/day, directly before bedtime. My blood work testing hormone levels did not show elevated prolactin levels. The blood was drawn mid morning on all occasions.
I stopped breast feeding about a month ago. (I'm pleased to share that my 23 month old son responded very well to weaning.
) How long would it take for my ovulation day to swing back closer to day #14 if my late ovulation was due to surges in my prolactin levels while breast feeding? Would a B6 supplement or progesterone cream be in order yet or should I wait to see what happens?
Also, I have been scheduled for a second opinion HSG test mid week with our new RE), which will be day #8 of my cycle. I know this test shouldn't be performed too close to ovulation, but is cycle day #8 too soon for this test?
Your forum is so informative and helpful!
What you are doing is tremendously supportive and sheds a whole lot of light on what is a long road for many of us. Thank you so much and I'm sure I'm not alone in saying I wish I lived a whole lot closer to Wellington, Florida.
In warm sincerity,
