  • Is there any point in another HSG? (child ment.)

History: child born by c-section 4 years ago.

I've had secondary infertility for 26 months now. I had an HSG performed at the 1 year mark, a little over a year ago. It was perfectly clear. I also had a sonohysterogram performed by my RE about 8 months ago. Also good results.

My RE says there is no point in another HSG because the test a year ago showed no blockages or uterine defects. I am mainly worried about fallopian blockage, we can't figure out any reason why I am not getting pregnant.

Is there any point in another HSG if my HSG a little over a year ago was clear? Can scar tissue from a c-section form years after the fact (i.e., not present a year ago but is now.)

    Hi,
There's a low likelihood of a problem in a little over a year, but one never knows... What was DH's strict (Kruger) morphology on his sperm? Sperm DNA fragmentation test result? Your TSH? Cycle day 3 FSH/E2 and antral follicle counts? Prolactin?

I should also add that I had a chemical pregnancy about 5 months before the HSG. About a year and a half ago.

My day 3 labs were: FSH 6, LH 5, I don't remember prolactin but it was low, estradiol 30, AMH was 2, antral follie count 18. I don't remember my husband's semen analysis results but my RE said they were excellent, and they've been great for all of our IUIs too. (I've now done several Femara/IUI cycles, all failed.)

My TSH was 2.4 at last check, about 8 weeks ago.
I am 30 years old. My husband is 33.

So since you said you were on Femara, you must not ovulate by yourself without medication. If you DO ovulate without drugs (have regular, ovulatory cycles), then taking Femara can "throw a wrench into your works".

Since you have irregular cycles, necessitating Femara, what's your diagnosis as the underlying cause of your irregular ovulations?
