  • Uterine Scarring

    Dr. Roseff,
Thank you for what you do.
I'm 41, 15 yrs ago my hubby(44) and I went through some basic fertilty procedures(iui 5x, lap and hsg, ultrasounds, drugs, etc, but no ivf).
My hsg showed "wispy, linear filling defects that were persistent in each view like "railroad tracks" on the left side of my endometrial cavity"
I've never had an abortion, I've never been pregnant. I did however have Chlamydia when I was 17. Could this be the cause of my scarring? And in your opinion is it reparable? We spent about 6 months with the RE and for financial reasons had to quit. We still actively tried but to no avail and just accepted the fact we would be without child. We are both healthy, I'm in very good shape and we are really wanting to actively pursue pregnancy again.
Any suggestions or options would be appreciated...but also if it's not safe or just too late, should we proceed? I'm willing and more than ready to go through it emotionally, physically and financially we'll figure it out...if there's a chance. Sincerely, T.

I can't tell you what your HSG showed because I don't have the films here. But what you described MAY be a normal variant. A good fertility doctor would know that lines going up and down the side(s) of the uterine cavity can be normal, as seen on the HSG film below.... I'm NOT saying yours are necessarily normal, but I'm saying they may have been (and someone who knows how to read an HSG should be able to tell you this).
I suggest you find the best, BOARD CERTIFIED RE your money can buy and see what they have to offer you. Hope this helps!!! Dr. Roseff in Florida
