  • POF question

I am 27 yo, had normal cycles up till a miscarriage I had in 2007 and then was diagnosed with ovarian failure two months later.
My first question is, has having a miscarriage ever been linked to causing POF in any way?
Also, there are some months my FSH will go down and I will have a cycle, I have even had ultrasounds that show I had a few follicles, so my question is with POF is it possible to take fertility drugs if my FSH is down or is IVF with donor eggs my only option.
    Thank you

I strongly suggest you see a board certified reproductive endocrinologist who can get to the bottom of what may be happening with you. A miscarriage shouldn't cause POF, but perhaps the pregnancy loss was related to a problem that has links to both the pregnancy failure and the POF???

We don't give fertility drugs to patients with an FSH in the POF range, but once normal fertility drug treatments may (or may not) be an option (depending on the situation).

    Hope this helps,

P.S. - If you don't have a superb RE near you who can diagnose/treat you for your POF, you're certainly welcome to come here.
