  • Did I overlook something

have a question... I need your opinion... I will try to give you a big picture of my situation to see what you think...

    so here it is:
I have a unicornate uterus (did an HSG in 2008), in my case, I have 2 working ovaries but only 1 tube... because of that, my uterus is smaller than normal... although my daughter was born vaginally, I had 95% chances of having a c-section because she would have been breached... Only, she decided to spend all my pregnancy head down and come out on her own... But, she had to wear a helmet to correct her all twisted skull because of it... So to me, carrying twins would be the equivalent of having triplets... You can see why we have decided than transferring only 1 emby at a time was the best choice...
Before getting pregnant with Chloe, I had no natural cycle and a lutheal phase defect with an anovulatory cycle every now and then... some month they would check my hormones and everything will be fine, and some months, it would be all over the place. I did 5 rounds of Chlomid and 3 IUI with no success... I got pregnant twice but m/c twice... one at 4 weeks (my OB told me that I was probably m/c even though I POAS and it was negative, I went and see him because my period was abnormally heavy and painfull) the other one was during a chlomid cycle, I ovulated from my wrong side but got pg anyway... m/c at 6 weeks... probably because I din't have enough progesterone... my level was at 19 when it happens... During my last chlomid cycle, I actually ovulated during my period... After taking my blood work, they gave me provera to start my period, and then start the chlomid... well... I ovulate during my period and ended up with a pretty screwed up cycle that month... My RE (and some research on my own...) told me that this happen in about 5% of the case (yeah for me... sigh...) In all this light... my husband and I decided that IVF was our solution... I did my first cycle with a short protocol... my RE didn't see the point with Lupron for me as I didn't have a cycle anyway at that point... so follistim, Ganirelix, trigger with HCG and progesterone, nothing more... We had 14 eggs retrieved, only 3 were mature enough to be fertilized but only one fertilized.. no ICSI at that time because all my numbers looked good and all my husband counts and everything where through the roof (they actually asked him if wanted to be a donor... as a semi joke...) They did a day 2 transfer with the only emby we had... and it took...

    Hi,

Thanks for your inquiry. You have a very long, extensive history of infertility, abnormal menstrual cycles, and recurrent pregnancy loss (according to what you wrote). This is complicated, and so (in my opinion) it would not be possible to give you my expert opinion without examining your test results, embryology data, taking a complete medical history, etc. If you want a second opinion, I believe that's your next step and best option in order for an accurate assessment and opinion to be rendered.

If you want that here, please let me know (there would be a consultation fee involved).
