  • LH question

    Hi Dr. Roseff,

Is my cycle over? Today cycle day 10 of an ivf cycle me lh was 1.54 and day 4 it was 4.76. Logic tells me that lh shouldn't decrease but I hope I am wrong. I hadnt had any monitoring since then. I am just starting ganirilex tonight. Could I have had an lh surge already and therefore my lh dropped? My e2 was less than 20 on cd4 and today it's 470 withone follicle at 19 and the next largest at 13. Am I going to ovulate on my own soon?

I have been on 375 gonal f and 75 Menopur since day 2.

I would love for you to tell me I'm wrong
    Thanks!

LH does not typically drop around the time of ovulation. A lower LH is meaningless....

    What was your progesterone level?

          Progesterone today is .89.

Follicles are 17.2, 17.4 and 14.9. The plan was to proceed to retrieval with atleast 2 follicles.

My amh was .17 and fsh 12.9 so I don't have a lot to work with

Where are you located in relation to Sanibel Island?

            Great progesterone level!

I'm about 3 hours from Sanibel Island; Slightly north and straight across the state (near West Palm Beach).

Sounds like you may get 3 eggs!! Good luck, Lisa!!

Oh you just made my day!

Thanks.. I really appreciate you taking the time to answers my questions!
I asked about Sanibel because my parents live there and thought maybe I would come in for a consult if this doesn't work out. I live in Maine.

                      Hello Again..
                      Just an update.. I had 5 eggs retrieved, 5 fertilized(still in shock) and 2- 8 cell grade A, 1- 7grade A and an 8 cell grade B transferred.
I am hoping the 8 cell grade B grows into a blast and can be frozen.

Since I cleared a couple of hurdles with the .17 amh and fsh of 12.9 and age of 38 I am hoping with the embryos transferred I have put myself in a better spot for getting a BFP.

                      Thanks!!

                      Lisa

                        Hi Dr Roseff,
On Monday I was 8dp3dt and had PMS symptoms and ended up expelling what seemed to be brownish purple and then some white tissue after with some blood. Then heavy bleeding started and has continued with bad cramps. My hcg was negative today at 10dp3dt.
What is killing me inside and I am praying you can tell me I'm wrong is this:
I have been on Crinone but I also was rubbing this Emeita Pro gest on once or twice a day thinking that it was a tiny bit extra if any to help. Well Sunday I forgot to do the cream but still did Crinone. Same on Monday, my Hpt was negative and thought it over but wasn't very hopeful because of the cramps. I also have significant endometriosis(not in uterus) and read somewhere that the protoglandins can signal menstruation too early. Please tell me forgetting the cream did not cause me to lose this pregnancy? The guilt is awful and I can't think of anything else. Could it have possibly been expelled so soon after forgetting the cream even though I was taking crinone or was it already a doomed pregnancy. In which I am ok with as long as I didn't cause it. I can't sleep or eat I am so upset with myself. I never knew a simple over the counter cream could have possibly caused so much devastation or I never would have touched it. -Lisa
                        Thank you!

Lisa, I just stumbled on this post because I recognized your name from the IVF board. I'm no doctor (obviously) but I just wanted to say that this is in no way your fault. Please don't blame yourself. (((HUGS))) and I am thinking of you.

                            Hi Lisa222,

Totally not your fault. The progesterone product you listed is probably not better than placebo anyway, as it's not an FDA approved method for delivering progesterone to your uterus.

As an aside, while I can't tell you for sure, much of what you described as coming out of your vagina was likely Crinone. It clumps and also can cause bleeding, so many of my patients complain of white, pink, brown, or red "tissue" coming out, when it's just the clumpy/messy Crinone (and they were NOT pregnant). I tell this to my patients ahead of time so they don't "freak out" when this stuff starts to come out.... I hope your RE told you this, too.

Sorry to hear about your negative pregnancy test. All my best - Always! Dr. Roseff in Florida

Thank you, it makes me feel a lot better.
I think we will try one more time. I hope my eggs are as good next time as this time. I appreciate your taking the time to answer my questions!
