Hi I am 32 years old and we have been trying to conceive for 4 years. I was diagnosed with blocked tubes by and hsg and lap surgery then had an open laparotomy (please excuse the spelling) surgery to correct. They removed the bad part of my tubes and reconnected the good parts. This surgery was performed in March of 2007. An HSG in August 2007 showed open tubes but the doctors explained the still might not be functioning properly. I did 2 falied clomid IUI and then we miraculously got pregnant on our own in January of 2008. I miscarried very early and they are still not sure if the pregnancy was in the uterus. Since then we did many clomid cycles with no success. I changed clinics. And recently started my first IVF cycle.
I had a day 3 fsh of 5 and all of my levels at my baseline after 2 weeks of birth control looked good. I started my stims of 225 follistim. and took those and went for my first sono on day 5 of stims. I had an e2 level of 1004 and about 11 follicles ranging from 9mm-12mm and plus some smaller ones. They kept my dosage the same. The next day I went back for anotehr sono and the nurse was measuring different amounts of eggs but several almost at 14 but my e2 barely rose to 1400. same dosage and sono again the next day this time the dr re-did the sono after the nurse because she did not like the measurments she measured 14 follicles and 4 over 14 so the started my ganirelix. But my e2 droppes to 1300. I skipped Saturday and went back in Sunday for another sono. I had one follicle at 18 and one at 16 but the rest had not grown and my e2 level dropped again to 1200. So they cancelled my cycle. Sorry for the book but I wanted to give you all the information. Based on this waht do you think went wrong? Am I a poor responder? Do I need a different protocol? Or did they possibly start giving me the antagon to late? Is there a clinic in texas in the DFW area that you recommend? My husbands counts and motility etc are good. My fsh did jump to 7 at my baseline but it was not on day 3. Also my lining was always over 10. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. They are saying I did not respond to the stims but I don't see how that could be.
