I am a 31 y/o female undergoing IVF due to unexplained male factor infertility (low count, low morphology). I am currently 9 days past embryo transfer. I received my first positive beta yesterday.
Although I did exercise (jogging 4-5 miles, walking on the treadmill, light weight lifting, aerobics classes) for years prior to undergoing IVF and during stimming, I have not exercised since transfer. I did have a rather low response to stimming and a high failure rate (9 retrieved, 5 fertilized, 3 survived for 5 day transfer, 2 transferred, the 3rd didn't make it to freeze). Could low response/ high failure have been influenced by exercising throughout stimming? We used a Lupron/ Menopur/ Bravelle protocol.
What are the recommendations for exercise now that I have received my first positive pregnancy test? Can I return to jogging? Weight lifting? Should I stick to low impact activities like walking on the treadmill? Or should I give up exercise for awhile altogether?
