  • Just had embryo transfer via ICSI...

    Hi Dr. Fisch,

On Monday (Day 3), we had two great quality (Grade 1) embryos transferred, though one got stuck on the catheter and had to be reinserted (hopefully, this isn't a problem and won't diminish our success rate). RE gave us a 50% chance of success (I just turned 36, no problems, good thick lining, etc. only male factor). We also have 6 embryos to be frozen (6-7 celled).

Do you think the stuck embryo is a problem?

If this doesn't work, what are the possible reasons why two good quality embryos wouldn't live up to their potential?

    Many thanks!

As long as they realized it was still in the catheter and put it back again, the chance of pregnancy is still good. In fact we often see these "sticky" embryos make a baby.

We tend to freeze embryos on day 5/6. Many 6-7 cell embryos won't make it that far because they are not normal.

Thanks, Dr. Fisch. Just got a positive on my home pregnancy test this morning, so I guess at least one of those embryos stuck! Happy New Year!
