  • poor response this cycle

    Hello,

I hope you can help me. I have PCOS and MTHFR, my husband has low motility. I had my first ICSI cycle in December, i was on Menopur ( 1 1/2 each day) and had 11 eggs collected, 3 made it to blastocysts and 2 were transfered. I became pregnant with twins but lost them at 7.5 weeks and 10.5 weeks.
My second ICSI, we were on Gonal F (1 dose), Menopur (1 dose), Dexamethasone and then i had to coast for 2 days as my E2 was too high. This time we collected 11 embryos, but none made it to blastocyst, i had 4 morulas at day 6, we transfered 2 (the other 2 arrested on day 7). We did not get pregnant this cycle.
The doctor doesnt know what went wrong, but if he had to guess he would say that it was the coasting, although it was only for 2 days (and it is usually safe to do it for up to 3 days with no problem to the eggs).
In addition my HCG shot was greater than 36 hours, more like 40 hours (my dh's sperm was given in 4 hours before my eggs were collected).
Can you tell what went wrong this time? I guess my dr was right about the coasting and i do trust him, just would like your opinion too. What should we do next cycle in your opinion?

    Thank you very much.

Your case sounds a bit complicated. Coasting needs to be started at the right time for it to work right. I am also concerned about the specific meds used in your stimulation, especially the Menopur.

If you contact me directly, I would be happy to review your case with you in mroe detail.
