I rebooted my eating habits today and start the Body for Life Program. I have high hopes. The eating is in line with what I knew was right and used to do for years. I have just gotten off-track for a couple years now.
My main goal for trying BFL was to avoid spending time logging calories or couting points, as my personal "me" time is extremely limited. I think it is going to work. Last night Dh fired up the grill and cooked a bunch of meats (chicken and turkey breats, chicken/veggie kabobs, and chicken italian sausage) and I packaged them in portion-sized plastic bags and froze them. I also cooked sticky rice and mashed a bunch of sweet potatoes for starches this week. All I lack is green veggies.
Now when I shoot out of the house in the morning I can quickly grab some food and take it to work. My goal is to keep it simple through the work week, so I don't get over-whelmed between family, work and getting fit and end up quiting.
Oh, and I weighed this morning. I have to lose about 10 pounds on the scale net, while loosing fat and gaining muscle. The doctor told me I can expect weight-gain from the estrogen pills I started taking for peri-menopause, so I'll be curioius to see how that slows me down. I'm just happy I'm doing something about it!
