    today I'm seriously at a 0 / 0 / 0

I went to weigh in and was so sure I did great this week and would be down a pound -- I AM UP A POUND!

Looking back on the week, I guess I didn't do so great and the drinks on Friday night and party on Sunday caught up to me. Plus, every other week I've exercised before weigh-in, so probably have some water weight loss immediately prior to weigh-in. Did no work out today.

So, I drown my sorrows in McDonalds with a milk shake and I have a bag of chocolate covered pretzels here for when I get hungry again!

Anyway, the leader told me that lowering my goal was a mistake too. She said if I am healthy at current weight, fine in BMI range, and maintained that for 4+ years, why on earth try to get lower?

I feel like I'm at the highest for my range and I still have some rolls and flab and cellulite and I want more of that gone. The truth is, I look gross naked. I can pull-off spandex and a swimsuit, but it's not like I'm all that "great" -- it's more like I'm just fairly trim compared to the majority of women in my age group at a pool or gym.

AND, I do eat a ton of crap! If I could just figure out how to stop eating the crap, I think I'd be 5 - 10 pound lighter no problem.

I would tend to agree with your leader. The extra flab we aren't happy with is most likely due to age, IMO, unless you are uber thin with a high metabolism. I would rather be 5 pounds over super skinny and enjoy a few drinks/treats on the weekend than add stress to my life over it. Sorry, just my 2 cents.

actually.. my trainer said that muscles are a

result of how we exercise. Flab is a result of what we eat. Have you checked out Andrew Weil's Anti-Inflammation diet? I'm using weight watchers point system but Andrew Weil's eating philosophy. I think processed food is the enemy. If you think back as to when obesity started to become an issue it was in the late 50s early 60s with the advent of tv dinners and more and more processed food.

I'm happy to say my head is in a great place. I looked at the menu online of the restaurant I was going to tonight and picked my food choices before I got there.

I ate on plan today. I walked 3 miles and I'm ready for tomorrow. It's a heavy workout day. I run 3 miles and then work out with my trainer. Darn I'm determined to get this done!

fatcat.. re: lowering your goal weight. Why do you want to do that? What is your motivation?

wastarin...was thinking about you.. hope you are doing ok!

        ps..

I'm finding that writing everything I put into my mouth down keeps me honest and forces me to make better choices. Once a week my trainer reviews my food diary. I didn't eat cold pizza this afternoon because I didn't want to have to write it down or count the points. Whatever helps!

yeah, I think I should get something different to write food down - just a little notebook - because for some reason I don't like the tiny lines and format in the WW journal they give you free.

I agree processed food is the enemy, but it's so hard to cut out so much stuff. I know I should buy/cook better for my kids' sakes too.

this is what got me started...

I want to model good eating and exercise habits for my kids. They know mommy goes to the gym every day whether she wants to or not. I think it teachs all of us about discipline and committment. It's what motivates me to the gym on days I'd rather not go (like today).

Food is different. I struggle more with staying the course regarding food.
