Lost 1 pound last week. I'm going to be happy with that...it was a rough week and I worked very hard to avoid stress eating. DS had seizures every day last week. Sigh!

    I'm walking/running 3 miles 4x a week.

I joined the sparkpeople site. Still getting used to it and need to get myself in gear to just login and keep track every single day!

    My current goals...
2 pounds a week weight loss!
Ideally I'd like to be down 30 pounds by June 1, 2011.

Well, I started almost a year ago. I've had a high of 20lbs lost. I'm hovering around 15 lbs now. It is getting harder. I was starving all last week. This week I have a nasty head cold. I figure it will be a little while until I can get back into it again.

What are you doing for exercise?

I despise exercising, so I mix it up seasonally and daily. Right now, I'm into swimming laps, ice skating, the gym at work, the gym at the pool, and a few tools at home like a balance ball, twist board, hula hoops, etc.

Are you using a weight loss plan?

      I use MyPlate.

Do you have any specific goals you would like to share?

My ultimate goal is 30 lbs lost. If I could lose at least 10 this year, that would be great.

for exercise I lift weights at least 2x a week, currently aiming to up it to 3x consistently. Spin class about 3x a week. I'd like to add running on the treadmill 2x a week and move that to ourside when it gets warmer.

I got all the new material from WW for Points Plus and I bought the little calculator. Basically just tracking all my food and staying within the points. The new "all fruit is zero" is great! Definitely encourages me to eat more fruit instead of saving points for empty calorie snacks.

My ultimate goal is by this spring has to do with the clothes in my closet. I generally have two sizes. My goal is to either get the smaller size to fit comfortably, or throw them all out and only buy in the larger size for ever after!

          Checking in...m

I had a 2lb weight loss. I'd really like to be down 20 more by a girls beach trip in Mid May. Very doable if I stay focused.

Physically my goals this year are to walk 1000 miles by the end of the year and do strength training/weight training 3x per week. My struggle is *always* with the strength training. For some reason I never feel that I'm using my time wisely if I'm not doing full cardio. But, trying to change the mindset.

          Using and loving Sparkpeople.

As I have written here before, I am fighting winter depression (SAD) that seems to vbe worse this year than ever before. The high melatonin and low serotonin levels of this condition make me crave carbs and alcohol and leave me in a foul, negative frame of mind. So things have not been pretty around here for the last few months. Since I am aware of this, I am working hard to maintain a positive outlook but it has been tough with the holidays and enforced boredom and cabin-fever that marked our school vacation. DS is back to school today and we are back to our routine, so hopefully I can also get back to "normal" and shed these holiday pounds.

In terms of weight gain, I can see it negatively or positively: the last I checked I was about midway between where I started last April and where I found myself early September, so up 7 pounds over my all time low (or still down 7 pounds from all-time high, taking the positive angle).

At least I made myself stick with the exercise: gym three times a week with an hour of cardio and an hour of machines/floor work. Nordic walking the other days if weather permits. If I didn't do this I would be toast for sure.

Today marks the first day of me getting back to the eating routine that helped me lose in the first place: no alcohol during the week, no eating after dinner, keep the sweets down to the minimum ( can have more on weekends if I want). So my goal is to be back at where I was in September/October, i.e. 7 pounds to go. Figure if I lose a lb a week or so on average I should be back there when spring begins. IF I can manage to get the better of my SAD! Waiting impatiently for spring....

              Down 3.2!

-3.2! I know it sounds like alot, but I have alot to lose!

What are you doing for exercise?
I got on the treadmill three times this last week. I would like to do that more and add in free weights.

Are you using a weight loss plan?
I am doing SparkPeople and my target daily caloric intake is 1200-1500. Here's my intake since starting:
              1275
              1230
              1135
              1145
              1271
              1445
              1522
              1131
              1454

Do you have any specific goals you would like to share?
I need to lose 60 lbs. As for when? Sooner rather than later! That and the exercise as listed above.

                I'll play

I've mostly always been a lurker, but I definitely need some motivation and support...

Share any weight loss or gain...hey we are here to support each other no matter which way we go! As of January 1, I have 25-30 pounds to lose and would like to have it gone by June. I never quite lost those last ten pounds from my last PG (almost nine years ago) and then added on a couple pounds each year, and now here I am. I think I may be down a couple of pounds since the beginning of the year, but I don't have a scale at home and will weight myself tomorrow at work.

What are you doing for exercise? I just joined the adult gym, next to the gym were my boys do gymnastics, so will have nothing better to do but go 2-3 times/week. Besides that it's ski season and we ski most weekends. I hope to also get back into the pool on alternate days from the gym.

Are you using a weight loss plan? The old eat less/exercise more? I signed onto Sparkpeople. For the first time I am keeping track of everything I eat and trying to stick to the 1200 - 1500 calories a day they recommend. Right now I'm finding that whole process time consuming, but it's already been a bit eye opening.

Do you have any specific goals you would like to share? Lose the weight in a sustainable way and get back into shape. I'm finding all this hormonal peri-menopausal/menopausal stuff has really thrown me for a loop, and I just want to feel more "normal" or at the lease fell happy with a new normal.
