  • So Frustrated!!!

My eating is great! Fabulous. Cut out all the excess sugar in my diet. No snacking, portion control. Finally got calories a day in check. But I can't exercise. Seriously, too tired, no time, constantly have someone or myself sick. I am so frustrated.

DS only sleeps 5 hours a night. That means that I sleep about that if not less. We have multiple Dr.'s working on this issue at our Children's Hospital but he has severe brain injury and sleep is one of the areas. Sadly, it's been 3 years since I've slept a whole night. Finally, it has caught up to me.

    So what can I do? I need to lose 30 pounds. I was walking/running 3 miles a day 4 days a week. Haven't run in 3 weeks.

Maybe I should take some of that supplement that Kerlin is taking.

    Any thoughts?

You poor thing. The supplement might help you with energy and stress, at least it has for me. Sounds like with all you having going on it would help you on many levels, so I recommend at least trying it out. Otherwise, I wonder if DH could help you with the sleeping schedule (i.e. he takes over in the p.m. and you get to bed earlier, or he gets up earlier to care for DS while you get more sleep). Or could you catch a nap during the day to make up? You need at least 6 hours to be reasonably rested and able to handle your day. Ideally it would be more like 7-8.

I am sorry you have so little time for exercise. But your eating pattern sounds wonderful and I am sure you will see results if you have patience. Very often water supplements lost fat and then all at once it exits and you see a loss. It can also vary according to where you are in your cycle. Keep in mind that exercise helps to speed and maintain weight loss (and is good for you, independent of that). But in the end the ONLY thing that leads to weight loss is cutting back on calories -- not less carbs, not less fat, just plain old boring less calories. And here you are doing all the right things.

So pat your self on the back for being as diligent as you have been. I hope the sleep issue with DS will resolve itself soon, for all of your sakes!

So sorry you are dealing with all of this. Can you nap durign the day at all?

I'm thinking about that suppplement too. I have it in my cart on a vitamin website but I haven't hit buy yet. I seem to be battling a mild depression.
