  • Weekly check in - so happy to see some new "faces" ...

So I guess last week's WI wasn't a fluke, WI Friday morning at my meeting, on another scale, and down another .8 - 41.0 total pounds gone since January - very happy! I have about another 10 to 13 lbs. to go, I haven't set my official WW goal, but I'm thinking either 148 (the high end of the acceptable weight for my height per WWs) or 145 - either of those are weights I feel I can manage to maintain for the long run, and not look too skinny, either.

Here's to a good week, I need to get more motivated with exercise (I say that every week, ha!) and trying to make weekends a little less unstructured as far as food goes, but it seems like there's always something happening - this past weekend we had a wedding and a Halloween party all on the same night - food and drinks!

Looking forward to reading everyone else's check ins, I'm sure we all have something great to report,

I'm not happy this morning. I'm up 3/4 lb. Last Wednesday I was down over a lb from Monday's weigh-in. Then it started to steadily creep up every day. I had one bad meal...my son wanted to go to Friendly's for our date on Friday night. Otherwise, I ate pretty well. I also went swimming, went to the gym twice, and worked out at home every day.

Forgot to weigh myself this morning. But I am just happy I finally got back into the pool yesterday. It was tough after two weeks of no swimming but I managed a little more than 3/4 of a mile. I wanted to try for more but wasn't feeling up to it and I still have a chesty cough. So I figured I shouldn't push it. Oddly enough my knee started bothering me at the end too. But I am excited to get back on track. I really want to lose another 25 before my trip to Mexico in February.

Congrats on the 41 Jen! I saw your pic on Facebook. You look amazing.

          Yay JJ!

          Nice loss.

I've been thinking about my goal weight a lot lately too. I'm still undecided on where I want to be. For my height, a mid-point for "healthy" bmi would be 125, so that may be my ultimate goal. I haven't weighed 125 in a looooooooong time, so I wonder if that is really sustainable for me.

I am UP this week as well. Not enough exercise and I let too much processed food creep into the diet. So, I'm buckling down to eat cleaner again.

Jeannie, glad you are feeling somewhat better. You've had a rough time of it lately.

          Laura, welcome! :o)

Hi, everybody! It's great to read all the check-ins. Welcome LauraG1 - hope the rest of your week was good. You don't have a ton to lose, hope your first week on WW went well. Jeannie - glad you're getting on top of the respiratory issues. It's hard to exercise when you can't breathe! Jersey-Jen - I'm in awe of your stats . . . wow! Makes my goal seem a long ways away, but breaking it into shorter term goals sure helps (5%, 10%, etc). Kim and kd - you guys are still doing great and motivating the rest of us if that's any consolation.

For my week - I was down 0.2. I was a little bummed it wasn't more, but it seems like after a bigger loss like last week then my next week is minimal. The trend remains my friend with a weekly average loss of 1.7 lbs.

I've done lots of biking and walking, walking, walking. On Saturday we did an 8 mile family bike-ride which was fun and great exercise at the same time. My friend and I did a 3 mile power walk yesterday and another friend and I did an hour+ on the bike trails this morning at a brisk pace (while pushing our 4 children!). That felt so great and really a natural mood booster. We've been having a gorgeous fall and I'll be bummed when it gets to cold to take the children for walks.

We took family pictures on Sunday and I was thrilled to immediately notice that my face looked slimmer. My dh continues to lose as well - no more snoring - woohoo!!!

Anything new or interesting that you guys are eating this fall? I've been experimenting with butternut squash which is delicious and the whole family loves (and avoiding my yum-o pumpkin chocolate chip muffins that I calculated out to be a whopping 10 points apiece - eek!)

Also, thanks for sharing thoughts last week about what to do with the bigger sized clothes. Like you, Jeannie, I have plenty of smaller sizes to shrink into (not the latest and greatest in fashion but can get me by). I am thinking I will be shipping out the larger-sized stuff as soon as it is clearly too big. Fitting back into them is NOT an option.

Quote for the week from WW forum:

There is no elevator to success. You have to take the stairs.

              Have a great week everyone!

I was down 3 pounds, but I know a lot of that was monthly water weight.
First 1/2 week on WW was good. I'm finding it's easier to stick to it during the week than the first 2 days on the weekend.
                  I'm walking/running more: I want those points!
I can already feel myself craving better foods. I went to the store and bought a lot of fresh fruit.
                  I'm motivated!

Great job, Laura! Any loss is worth celebrating, so yay!!

Since I've been going to WWs I've pretty much followed the plan to a T during the week, but on the weekends I'm much more relaxed. I do track everything, so there is no denial over what I ate or drank, but I don't deny myself anything. Weekends are tough because, for me, they're less structured, more social events, etc., but it's been working, I've consistently lost. I figured it out last week, I've been on WWs for 39 weeks and have lost 41 lbs., so that's an average of about a 1lb. per week - is it fast? Nope! But, it's been consistent and I think I've found what works for me :-)

And I LOVE that fruits are "free" - I don't over do it, but in the past if a banana was 2 points and a couple of crackers were 2 points, I'd have chosen the crackers over the banana - now I can opt for the banana, or both if I have the points :-)
