  • Intro and request for lunch help...m

So I really need to get my body back in shape and tomorrow is the day to start the process. I've got an almost 4 yo and a 7 yo and I've not really ever lost that last 10 from the 4 yo.... I'm not planning on anything formal or big, just some lifestyle changes. One of my big struggles is lunch. I never know what to eat that is quick and healthy. I'd love any ideas that are working for people. My hope is to lose 10 lbs and tone my body up. Thanks!

    Welcome!

I bring leftovers from dinner almost every day. If I don't have true leftovers, then I might throw some leftover meat on a salad. If I really have nothing, then I bring a mix of things. I might bring in a hardboiled egg with some crackers and grapes, or hummus with veggies and pretzels, or a small piece of cheddar with some crackers and an apple. Those are all things that we usually have in the house.

      Welcome Jen!

Like kd, my lunches are either left overs or what ever I can scrounge up around the house.

      Somethings I make are:

egg salad - made w/ 1 hard boiled egg & 1 egg white, little bit of light mayo; I'll have that on a sandwich thin of some time, veggies and fruit on the side, sometimes baked chips/baked doritos.

pizza - I make these on Flatout light flat breads - little bit of pizza sauce, 2% mozzarella, turkey pepperoni & onion; I'll have that w/ a salad on the side.

Subway - a treat every couple of weeks - turkey on whole wheat, loaded w/ veggies.

Chick-Fil-A - salad - I like their southwest chargrilled salad w/ olive oil & their light Italian dressing.

Lunch meat - I try not to eat this too often because of sodium, but low fat turkey breast on a flatbread w/ Laughing Cow cheese spread instead of mayo.

I just round out most of my lunches with either a salad or cut up veggies and a piece of fruit.
