  • This is so hard.

We came home with two huge boxes of cookies from the cookie swap the other day. Someone sent us a coffee cake at work. There have been and will be more food related events. I'm feeling like just calling it a month and starting back up in January.

Hang in there, kd. We're beseiged by goodies here too. I made peanut clusters the other night (my all-time holiday weakness) for a bake sale and have literally had to give the extras away so I won't nibble. My mindset is to just maintain or have small losses and not hate how much I've backslid by January 1. For me, added pounds on the scale would be hard, but I think the negative impact on the good habits I've ingrained since this summer would be even worse.

Post anytime - we can do it.

It is hard with all the goodies around.

At my WWs meeting last week we were given a hand out that said "If you don't have it, you can't eat it." That can be taken in 2 ways - if you don't have goodies in the house, you can't eat them. Or, if you don't have good options available, you can't eat them. So either banish the goodies, or find a better option.

I'm happy we have no cookie swap on our street this year, I don't need the temptation. I'll have a treat or 2 if I'm out somewhere, but I can't have an endless supply in the house.

Good luck, it is a trying time of year. Do your best, that way come January you're not trying to dig yourself out of a hole - that's what I'm trying to come to terms with.
