  • Weekly Check-in

I am down .5 lb this week. I am starting to see some muscle definition in my arms again. I lost what little I had after I got sick and stopped exercising. I went to the gym twice last week and worked out at home every day. I wanted to go to the pool, but it was just too cold to even think about it.

I ate pretty well last week, except for one day when I was famished to the point of not thinking clearly or caring and I got a cheeseburger and fries for lunch.

Friday night I cashed in a gift certificate for a massage. It felt fantastic.

Week two of WW and I lost another 2 lbs! I'm very proud of myself, because the weekend was crazy. We had unexpected guests and two lunches out, plus a Saturday night party to attend. I had a little white wine at the party, but overall, I just ate very light (veggie wraps for both lunches out) and that did the trick. I still haven't gotten into a good exercise routine, but I'm not beating myself up, since I'm feeling good about managing my points.

FYI, I have 26 points per day, but I am eating more like 22-23. I just felt too stuffed trying to do the 26. I know they want us to eat all the points, but it was just too much food for me.

I was up a little at WI Friday (.4) - I'm guessing that some of the over indulging I did over the holidays caught up to me because I was pretty good over the previous weekend and all week. Lack of movement is really starting to slow things down, too.

This past weekend was tough, went to my ILs for lunch yesterday - ham glazed w/ sugar, lasagna, bread and the topper - croissants filled w/ chocolate cream - yes, I ate an entire one - ugh!

Back to the grind I go today, hoping I don't end up with another gain this week, these last 5 lbs. are going to be rough!

      Have a good week all...

I joined Jenny Craig on Sunday and started the food today. It was more expensive than I anticipated but heck, all the more motivation to stick with it now that I've spent a fortune on it. I just really needed something where I don't have to plan.

I gained over the holidays so that's frustrating. But I've gotten back in the pool. Did 40 laps last Saturday but was having asthma issues. Tried to go on Sunday but got bumped by birthday party. Tried to go Wednesday to another pool but it was closed for maintenance. Thwarted! I did go this Sunday despite it being 19 degrees and did 3/4 mile. I went again yesterday and did the mile. Took an hour. :-P But I always feel better when I go.

          Hi -can I jump in?

I posted on PNO about WW points plus. Hope it is ok to join you all! I am on day 2 and it is going to be a challenge . For day 1, I ate my usual and what I thought was "healthy" and ate a whopping 43 points. 26 points seems daunting.! Ok, the home made pasta alla Norma made with goat cheese didn't help... Today with levtovers of the same pasta for lunch and I am at 33. So, I am going to give myself a week or two to adjust myself and see how I do.

I turned to WW because mY metabolism has finally come to a screeching halt. I have 15 to 20 pounds to lose that I am sure the transition to menopause is a big factor. I have heard it called the " estrogen spare tire"

Welcome!! The more the merrier, please join us weekly for our check ins, always good to see new faces and get the additional support!

I think you had mentioned on PNO that w/ WWs at Work you have access to e-tools. The e-tools includes a recipe builder, so you can put any of your existing recipes in to it and it calculates points, it will also give you suggestions on how to lighten the points.

A couple of sites I really like for good WW friendly recipes that are tasty and my family likes are:

            http://www.skinnytaste.com/

            and

            http://www.emilybites.com/

Last night I made Four Cheese & Sausage Stuffed Shells from Emily Bites - it was soooo good! DH & DS loved it, too... they both had seconds and DH took some left overs for lunch today, and I have 2 more servings in the freezer for quick meals for me.

Things I like on Skinny Taste are her chicken enchiladas, the chicken enchilada soup and chicken parm.

            Best wishes,
            ~jj

First week on Jenny Craig a complete bust. I'm not loving the food. Plus it was PMS week and I am always crazy hungry around that time. But JC counselor and I discussed ways to adapt diet to something I am more comfortable with.

I was good with the swimming. Did a mile on Saturday and Sunday and am going again tonight.

Weight is basically unchanged but my waist is definitely smaller. My pants are getting loose.
