  • Weekly check in...

Down another 1.0 this past week at WI. Why do I feel like the last 3 lbs. are going to take a long time to come off? We'll see this week...

Any worries about Super Bowl over the weekend? We didn't go to a party, just stayed home - I love the commercials :-)

I did make party food, but made it WW friendly - baked mozzarella sticks, buffalo chicken bites and nachos. And I even had ice cream for dessert :-)

Hoping to ramp up some activity this week and get a bigger loss on the scale this week, other wise I may re-set my goal weight to 148, I'm under that so I'd be at goal and then move to maintenance.

    Have a good week all!

Grrr!! I am up 2.25 this week. I'm up 3 lbs since Friday. We went away for the weekend. I took full advantage of the pool and gym at the hotel, plus the regular stuff I did at home when I was there, but it was not enough. In addition to that I am tired. I really do not enjoy going away. I like my own bed and my own food.

Not so good for me. I'm sticking with WW, faithfully counting my points and trying to add a bit of exercise on top of what I already do. I felt good going into the weekend, but then I felt like I swelled up. I allowed myself a few glasses of wine Saturday night, and ate way too late, and that sort of threw me off. Last night I made a turkey chili, and again, felt stuffed but didn't go over my points.

Today, the scale was the same as last week. It's discouraging, but I am down 8-9 lbs in 5 weeks, so I'm just going to stick with it. I'm afraid being in my 50s is a factor I'm just going to have to deal with.

Hang in there! I'm 48, and it has been a slow slow process! I also find that if I have even 1 glass of wine within 2 days of weighing in, I'm still bloated - blah! So as I weigh in on Fridays, I try to keep all alcohol consumption to the weekends (for now, as I'm still losing). Last week I had book club on Wednesday night, I drank 1 glass of wine and ate fruit and just a small amount of the other goodies there, had the points for it, but I know I was still retaining water at WI on Friday morning.

So maybe you won't see the difference this week, but if you keep OP, you will see it next week.

        Have a good one,

Thanks, jj - I know you are right, and I am not going to stop. Today I got on the scale and I was down almost 2 lbs from yesterday, so now I know for sure it was just water. I made several chilis last week, with beans and canned tomatoes, and I know the sodium probably contributed (along with the wine!). Since I'm hardly drinking any wine right now, I might just give it up completely for awhile so I can keep feeling successful.

I do love this program even more than when I did it 10 years ago. I love the endless fruit and vegetables, and I even like the higher points associated with processed foods. I feel like I'm getting my taste buds back, and really appreciating fresh, good food.

          Thanks for the pep talk!

Up a half pound this week. I was so hungry all the time the first couple of weeks and lost weight a little too fast. I don't think I recovered from a lunch outing last Friday. I trendy place that serves nothing but sweet and savory pies. It was amazing. I tried to be really conservative the next 3days before WI, so I guess it could have been worse.

Still trying to adapt my cooking skills/methods to WW. Also trying to adjust my palate to give up things like real sugar in my coffee. I ditched the half and half, but I am using whole milk. I hate the look and taste of skim milk in coffee. So there are 5 points I am blowing every morning.

But on the upside, I am definitely eating better than I have in decades, drinking more water, and I don't feel nearly as tired. So, one week set back ain't so bad, I guess.

              Update

              Ladies,

I'm down 1.2 pounds this week which is miraculous considering I ate quite a few goodies this week that are not on the plan.

I have been REALLY struggling to get back on board with exercise. I don't know if it is winter or what, but motivation is at a low and I am being soooooo lazy!!!!!!! Need to get back to it!!!!
