  • Central placenta previa

    Hello,

I had an ultrasound at 15 1/2 weeks that showed my placenta covering my cervix but it was near the end of the placenta. At 18 weeks my placenta was central. I have another scan at 20 weeks but I am very concerned about my condition.

I am concerned that something will happen before the baby is big enough to survive and also about the bleeding potential. The doctor mentioned they have to watch for accreta because of previous c sections.

How likely would it be for my placenta to move out of the way. From what I have learned it is less likely with central placenta previa.

I am trying to find reassurance so that I can relax a bit.

    Thank you.

It is quite unlikely that a truce central previa with resolve by term- fortunately, many women will not experience any bleeding, although the risks for bleeding are greater at or near term- fopr this reason, you will likely have your C/S earlier than unsual

    Good luck
