Hi, Im new to the board. I just recently found out I am pregcant. This will be my 6th pregancy, I have 2 children that have survived. My oldest is 17 and my youngest will be 10 in January. I am 37 y/o.
I have a history of an incompetent cervix, I lost my daughter at 21 weeks due to this (3rd pregnancy), and almost lost my oldest son at 23 weeks (4th pregnancy). When I went into preterm labor, the doctors ended up putting in a McDonalds Cerclage. I was put on bedrest and I went to term.
My youngest son, I went to the Doctor with records in hand showing my previous problems. The doctor immediately sent me for a sonogram to determine gestational age & scheduled the Cerclage @ 12 weeks. The doctors monitored me very closely (I had approx 27 u/s) and he just wasn't growing correctly. He was termed as IUGR. On top of it, my amniotic fluid dropped and he was diagnosed with reverse diastolic blood flow. This was a "new" problem with my pregnancies & it kind of threw my doctor's for a loop. My son was delivered @ 29 weeks & spent 64 days in NICU. He is doing great now.
I had an appt with an ob/gyn on Wed. But, on Tuesday, I started bleeding. Went to the ER, confirmed cervix closed, sack in uterus, no fetal pole yet, approx 4 weeks pg. HCG was 3268.
Wed, went to ob/gyn looked at history. Saw ER tests. Said he thought I was more like 5 weeks (unsure of LMP) and wanted another HCG on Thurs.
Stated that we would do sonogram on 23rd to schedule cerclage. Test on Thurs showed HCG @ 4082. Dr. requested another HCG on Sat.
Ended up in ER on Sat, after having HCG earlier in day. Light bleeding, pink when wiping. Stated that cervix is closed, no active bleeding but red around cervix. Stated that HCG had only risen to 5024. Commented that was not good.
Have u/s scheduled for tomorrow, but I am fearing the worst. I think Im trying to miscarry but want so bad for that not to be the case. Any insight on this would be appreciated.
