  • Osteoperosis

I have anticardiolipid antibodies and antiphospholipid antibodies. I have had two beautiful boys with utilizing lovenox and prednison treatments. I am now 35 years old and have found out that I have osteoperosis in my left hip due to the medication. Would like to know what the risks of attempting another pregnancy and how common is this? I am not having much luck on locating this information on the web and this website was extremely helpful in creating the treatment that I needed to have my boys after 3 devistating miscarriages. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

In general, the osteoportic effects of short courses of heparin are reversible upon stopping the meds- long term steroid use may predispose to hip necrosis, would not expect this if only taken during pregnancy

pregnancy in general causes bone thinning, again generally reversible provided proper replacement no under lying problem with bone formation

      Case Studies

Do you know if there are any statistics or case studies regarding the use of predisone and lovenox during pregnancy and how many women acquired osteoperosis pre menopausal?
