I was told by my doctor on monday that I had no amnioitic fluid surrounding baby and that it was possible baby didnt have kidneys. On wed I went to the hospital for a better ultrasound and they confirmed the baby had kidneys and a bladder. They said I could have had a tear in the sac and leaked all my fluid out. I have no idea when but a month ago I had fluid around the baby. I have been instructed to drink all the water I possibly can in 3 weeks. I am 17 weeks and i have untill 20 weeks to refill the fluid so babys lung can have time to develop in time for deliver. I am drinking over a gallon of fluid every day and thats not counting all the watery food i have been eating. I am wondering if anyone knows how fast my fluid can return at this pace? Is there anyone that has been or is in a situation like this? If so I would love to hear from you. Thank you

Sorry for your problem- lack of amniotic fluid is either due to lack of production/passage of urine by baby (no kidneys, blocked bladder, decreased production due to severe growth restriction) or from lose of urine due to a hole in the pregnancy sac
drinking excessive water could be dangerous to you and does not really provide any meaningful treatement for these conditions. If the sac is broken, the hole can sometimes close on its own, and the fluid can reaccumulate provided the baby continues to grow, make and pass urine.
best of luck
