Hastert raises for Boswell foe

Former House Speaker Dennis Hastert and former Iowa Rep. Greg Ganske will host a fundraiser for Jim Gibbons in Des Moines on Wednesday. Gibbons is one of six Republicans seeking the GOP nomination to take on seven-term Rep. Leonard Boswell. But the Des Moines Register points out that "Democrats are quick to note that the once powerful GOP name isn’t what it used to be. Hastert’s son Ethan lost a Republican Primary this year for the U.S. House in Hastert’s old district in northern Illinois."
