First debate in Hawaii special

The three major candidates (and some others) running in a special election to fill former Rep. Neil Abercrombie's vacant House seat met in a debate Monday night. The event showcased the reason why Democrats should be anxious about the contest: the two Democratic candidates, state Senate President Colleen Hanabusa and former Rep. Ed Case, agreed on the most important issues, while Republican Honolulu Councilman Charles Djou staked out positions that couldn't win him a majority but might get a plurality in a three-way split.
