  • Why won't Sarah Palin release her medical records?

She told Brian Williams in her interview with him almost 2 weeks ago that she would release them. Last Sunday morning, Palin spokeswoman Tracey Schmitt told ABC News that Palin's staff planned to release information regarding her medical history "early in the week". Still nothing.

She is the only one of the presidential or vice presidential candidates who has not released any health information about herself.

Now, none of the others have allowed unrestricted access to *full* medical records, but they at least have provided documentation about their current health and any issues that have come up.

I find it strange that they can't even seem to get a local Alaska doctor to confirm that she's fine, in good health, yadda yadda.

    Well, I think it's odd (m)

that they would release medical records. I think that a current physical or statement from their Dr's is enough.

Why wouldn't they release ... well I would think they are trying to hide something ... but I'm ok with that, I would not want mine released either .. even if I were running for president.

I don't think releasing full records is necessary, but it would be nice if the ob who will say anything for her would release a statement about her general health. One would think the ob who said it was reasonable for an AMA woman about to deliver her fifth baby (that number kid usually comes out pretty fast) whose water had broken several weeks early with a special needs baby should take several plane flights to get home to deliver at a dinky hospital could be convinced to release a statement.

This is common knowledge in Prudhoe Bay, where such things are more accepted and each person is deemed responsible for their own actions.

Sharing such with the mainstream press? You are kidding, right? Ever been to a native village? People don't talk to outsiders, and my friend is not an outsider but someone with very close long-time ties to the community.
                Augie's right - so what?

SP has no qualifications and has all but squandered this election for McCain, and my retirement fund has lost 30%, the US of A has lost the respect of the rest of the world, and we've got a war worse than Vietnam to deal with. Who cares about SP's medical records? Except that she agreed to release them and hasn't? That's the real point and not guessing about having her v jay jay tightened (um, getting a bit personal there...). But if you care about Obama's birth certificate, invent him as a secret muslim socialist, care at all about his association with the citizen of the year in Chicago, then you might be distracted by this flack.

I've heard from someone respected and reliable who heard it from someone who observed this behavior. I've asked him 3 times if it's true. His response? Absolutely. Make of it what you will.....

I would hardly count the one page note from BO's dr as releasing his medical records

I'm sure SP could get her dr to write a note for her as well, but that wouldn't fly now would it...

between McCain's strange abbreviated release, Obama's one-pager, and whatever Biden released, a one-pager WHEN SHE AGREED TO RELEASE RECORDS - would be a whole lot better than nothing.

But is SP's health really an issue of nationsl importance? I'd rather hear her views on the courts, the economy, the war, foreign aid, if she has any actual views.

Actually, it would count for something. She has promised to release at least a summary of her records and has not. Why not a 1-pager to put this at rest?

Obama also released the results of a number of test results recently that show he is in good health.

                            Let's find a non-partisan website to investigate!

But . . . but . . . FactCheck.org hasn't ruled on this rumor yet! It could be true! Let's go check FightTheSmears!

Does anyone know why medical records

are required? I am guessing that they want to make sure that the person doesn't have any life-threatening illness that could affect their position. But, that's kind of silly, isn't it, since anybody can die at any given time for any number of reasons. So, checking medical records to make sure that they are healthy doesn't really guarantee that that person will be alive tomorrow.

So no, I don't really care about Palin's medical records (or any of them), but I guess if she is suppose to provide them, then she should.
