3rd party 1) person who saw this occur repeatedly (there were many), 2) my source, 3) me.

so tell me why then, that sp's records are sealed? you don't like my reason - do you have one?

The reason why I find these "guesses" distasteful is that there's no need/desire/ability for corroboration. We're supposed to trust a person we've never met to tell us something that they have a very reliable source that tells us something we can't hear from anyone else.

This is the stuff of urban legends -- friends of friends telling you something -- but worse, this is something that smacks of gossip, not relevance.

If I said that living in the Chicago area, I knew that Michelle Obama got liposuction and regularly beat her children with a wooden spoon...does that hold any credibility for you? After all, you know I live in the general area. But there's another strike against what your saying, which is the fact that you're a proclaimed liberal and have been an outspoken critic of Palin.

Is what your alleging true? Maybe...but unless you have some other way of convincing us, it's coming off as mean-spirited gossip.

Who cares about SP's medical records? Except that she agreed to release them and hasn't? That's the real point and not guessing about having her v jay jay tightened (um, getting a bit personal there...). But if you care about Obama's birth certificate, invent him as a secret muslim socialist, care at all about his association with the citizen of the year in Chicago, then you might be distracted by this flack.
The only things I'm going to respond to on this are most McCain supporters don't think Obama is qualified either. I guarantee most people that are voting for Obama NEVER heard of him before his DNC speech in '04 and now he is the savior of the dems. He hasn't done anything to merit occupying the highest office in the land, IMO. Also, our current war is nowhere even close to being as bad as the Viet Nam war.

Not nearly as disgusting as the allegation on this board that SP flew back to Alaska to deliver her baby in a deliberate attempt to lose the baby.

She is the one who said she would release them ...

I saw the Brian Williams piece, and it was clear to me that she didn't have anything to hide. She said that they would reflect the health of a woman in her 40s who had had kids. My guess is that the campaign decided they would be a distraction - which I think is true. Frankly, I don't really want my more embarassing personal details out there for the press to write front page articles about. Palin is a marathon runner with tons of energy - her health is one of the only things I am not concerned about.

I read that one too and could find you the thread in about 5.5 seconds. An awful allegation.

So, checking medical records to make sure that they are healthy doesn't really guarantee that that person will be alive tomorrow.

So no, I don't really care about Palin's medical records (or any of them), but I guess if she is suppose to provide them, then she should.

I think that the medical records should be left out of it. In this day and age of HIPAA and confidentiality I think it's ridiculous no matter who the candidate is.

I don't care all that much either. But why she said she would provide them and now won't.... well just another case of her dishonesty.

I totally get the experience argument. But the argument that the Iraq War isn't as bad as the Vietnam War is one I hear a lot and find completely unpersuasive. I don't think we should wait for things to get as bad as they did in Vietnam before we realize it's a disaster and try and mitigate the damage. I don't want to wait until we've lost hundreds of thousands of troops to fix this. It doesn't make me feel better about the Iraq War to know Vietnam was worse. Losing thousands of troops, injuring tens of thousands of other troops and bleeding $10 billion a month in an unjustified and badly planned war isn't going to look any more appealing just because we did something even more stupid back in the 70s.

My point was just to state that SueW's comment about Iraq is right now worse than Vietnam is incorrect. It is nowhere near as bad as it was in Vietnam, and I don't expect us to be there much longer anyway.

I think we need to have a double standard in this race. Not the way you are thinking.

I think it's legitimate to want to see JM's medical records and to rigourously assess his health. I think it's bogus to ask the same of Palin and Obama. Why? Because the vast majority of people under 50 simply do not have enough wrong with them for it to make an impact on their ability to do something for the next eight years.

I don't think we need or should want to pour over the intimate details of their heal records. I don't even think it's great to do it with JM except in-so-far as we deal with factors for which he has personal risk factors - cancer mainly - which affect his ability to do the job.

For the most part though, I think that this tends to reduce people to their health. If we could have one of the great leaders in history even only for one year, in my mind it's better than 8 of someone else.

I don't know about you, but I will be voting for a human being this morning, not a bag of bones.

Great. Thanks for posting this. I wonder why so much of it is about her son? It's not his health that matterrs, or does the doctor think people might question her ability to focus on the job if her son is ill? I didn't expect any big surprise in a healthy mid-life woman, so I'm glad it's out there--finally.
