  • Are you receiving tons of political phone calls?

I can't wait for Tuesday to get here, so my phone will stop ringing! LOL!

I really can't believe how many phone calls I am getting this time around. I have received five just today. And, I find it interesting that as a registered democrat, I am only receiving calls asking me to vote for McCain. And, they are all recordings, which drives me crazy. I mean, the phone rings, you pick it up and say hello and then there's a pause before the recorded message starts- it drives me crazy. Of course, I have realized that most of them come up on my caller ID as "800 service" and I have just quit answering them, but then I have to go delete the message from the machine.

So, are you receiving tons of calls also? And, does either side really think that this close to the election, they are going to change anyone's mind?

Only 4 or 5 per day. I got one today asking me to vote for Elizabeth Dole. I haven't lived in NC for years. Doesn't really seem like it'd be appropriate for me to vote for her.

      Nope, none...

I guess that's one of the benefits to moving around a lot and not living in the state where I vote!

I'm sure they would drive me crazy if I were getting them.

Not a one. I guess McCain doesn't think he's got a chance in New York.

          We had NINE yesterday!

Two for Obama and seven for McCain. I am so sick of them. I'm also tired of all the political ads. Living in Ohio, we've been hit hard.

Both of Obamas have been polite and informative, even giving the location of our polling place.

All of McCain's have been smears against Obama, revisiting Wright, Ayers, etc.

The contrast between the two is interesting.

We have received only robocalls. Someone stated in another post that they were making calls for McCain, and I in no way want to implicate that someone was rude in real life.

The only calls I've gotten have been from the Obama campaign, asking me to donate more $.

I have gotten calls from our Republican Congressman who is running for re-election. I told them I am planning on voting for him and they stopped calling.

I am in PA, so maybe we are getting hit harder here with the phone calls.

Yes, most recent for Democrats in Pittsburgh??

Weird, I live 3 states away from PA! It's getting irritating.

I am only getting calls from the Repub who is challenging our incumbent Dem senator.

I spent Saturday afternoon calling for the McCain campaign. It was actually a lot of fun! I chose Minnesota because I'm blessed (cursed?) with a pretty unmistakable MN accent . Most of the people I called were registered Repubs and the point of calling was getting them to the polls. Many of them took a minute to chat and enthusiastically share why they already voted or are going to vote McCain. Of course the Vikings came up and it didn't help that the Bears coach endorsed Obama.

I did talk to two people who were supporting Obama but they were very polite. I also left quite a few voicemails. It was fun, especially because I felt like I was doing something productive for the campaign.

Cell phone only household -- no calls!

Dropping the landline has one great advantage -- no phone solicitations! Usually we get many polls and candidate calls, but now we get no such spam by phone.

                      Yes!!!

Ready for them to stop as well. Especially since I've already voted. None have been for president though.

No reason to call your state either, as it is enthusiastically supporting the Sarah Palin ticket.

you know, there are other offices to be filled!

I think you'll be surprised at the presidential vote in this state, although the McCain ticket will take our three electoral votes. Sarah is actually his running mate.

We do have a tight and contested Senate race that is very important to the state the nation, as well as state offices to be filled. I assure you that residents with landlines are being called by pollsters for both the presidential polls and those four other races.

Tons - most asking for money. I got just one call about our Congressional seat. Our Democrat Congresswoman is dealing with a pretty intense challenger whose signs are EVERYWHERE. I live in such a red town *sigh*

No, but I live in a battleground state and the candidates have practically moved in. I could go to a political rally just about every other day. I guess they don't need to call us when they can tell us face to face.
