  • new member- soon to do IVF

Hello- I am a new member. I am 37 with ovaries removed. Have done IVF twice with donor egg in the Ukraine. One time preg. for 9 beautiful weeks. Currently going to do IVF with donated embies at New Jersey Coopers clinic. I am so excited. I have 6 embies on ice. They have tested me on everything, but it seems like they always want one more thing. I have done my last testing and as soon as I get results to them, I am hoping for a date of tx. I am hoping to share, support, and learn from you all. Thanks for reading!

Hey Sunflower. Your story sounds familiar. I am 41 and have only one ovary as a result of a melon size cyst that took the other ovary in 1999. My DH and I conceived on our own in June 2006 and m/s after 4 weeks. My OB put me on Clomid with no luck after many months so she then referred us to an RE and we went thru fertility drugs, etc for many more months. I had to take a break finally to get myself back to normal b/c of the drugs. We went back to the RE about a month ago to start again. I have an FSH level of 21 and the RE says my quantity and quality of eggs is not the best. Thus, she's suggesting we do IVF w/ DE. I have had very irregular periods and actually, haven't had any cycle since August. They put me on BCP which I took the last pill on Thursday. So, I'm now waiting on AF to arrive and to then call the RE for a trial transfer protocol. I have the patches and PIO (arrived yesterday). So, I'm armed and waiting and nervous as hell. The biggest issue that I'm understanding is locating a donor. They say it could take up to 12-18 months. Wow. I'll galdly share my stories with you and you the same.

      Good to hear from you!

Hello! Best of luck with your upcoming trial transfer. Finding a donor is expensive and a scary time too. At Cooper's clinic of New Jersey where we will be going, they do egg sharing. Not sure if you are wanting to consider this. It cuts costs and you share eggs with the donor who is doing IVF too. I hate the wait thing too. It sure sounds like we have a similar situation. I would love to follow your journey and share with you. Our dream will happen!
