Hey. I had my first ultrasound today. The gestational sac and the yolk sac were visible. YAY!!! Praise God. The doctor said this is a normal 5 week pregnancy. Whew, what a relief. He wants me to return next week for a 6 week ultrasound. He said he'll be looking for growth and possibly a heartbeat. I am pray everything will be fine. --Tracee

Wonderful news, Tracee! I'm so glad everything is going well. Congratulations!

I'm on Day 9 of stims, and going in for monitoring this morning. We're hoping to trigger me on Monday or Tuesday. I want to just stop stimming and get on with it, you know?

I understand where you are coming from, Christine. The anticipation is something else, but you will be taking the trigger before you know it. Good luck.

Looks like my retrieval will be this Thursday or Friday -- yay! I'm excited to get on with it, but a little nervous about the procedure, too. Was it easy for you?

            Nervous is normal...

            Christine,

I know you posed your question to Tracee but thought I'd help if I could. If you'll remember, I did the IVF 2 years ago. I can tell you that the retrieval process was pain FREE. The only pain I felt and it was minimal was the needle going into my arm for the IV. I was pretty out of it during the retrieval, in and out I guess you'd say. I remember waking up, seeing a nurse right beside me and thats all I remember. I don't remember ANY discomfort. I understand the nervousness, I was too, but I promise you, it is relatively an easy process. Was for me anyway. Hope this helps. Keep us posted on how things go.

Hi Christine. Everyone has a different experience. Tina says she did not have any discomfort. Well, I can not say that. Although, I was sedated, I did feel sharp pain at one point. My husband said toward the end of retrieval, the doctor had a difficult time pushing past scar tissue on my ovary. Afterward, I slept a lot. I experienced cramping that Tylenol numbed.

              On a more positive note...
. The procedure is really quick once they get started. I was told it took five minutes. Also, whatever happens, it is all worth it in the end. Our ultimate goal is a healthy pregnancy and baby.
