Thanks Levana They never call before 2pm and sometimes they even call after hours so it'll be awhile unfortunately. I'll be sure to update when I found out

Well they called, it's 79...the nurse said this was good and they were pleased but I'm worried. My HCG was always above 100 at 14dpo with any of my other bfps and today is 16dpo. I know this was an fet and I've heard that sometimes the levels are lower with a frozen cycle but I am worried. I go back for another test Wed am. It's going to be an incredibly LONBG 48hrs Anyone else ever hear of a successful pregnancy with such a low initial #?

Congrats! Try not to worry (I know it is easier said than done...) I am sending doubling vibes to you!

I don't know much about the numbers but I know that over 5 is considered positive -- so 79 sounds like a good strong number to me.

That sounds like a great number to me! Plus if the nurse was happy, that's a good sign because I'm sure the last thing they would want to give is false hope. There are oodles of stories online of betas significantly lower than yours that had happy endings. Wishing you a happy and healthy nine months, looking forward to hearing what your test result is on Wednesday!

Thanks Levana and Annette, and I know there's still a lot to be hopeful about, but with my last bfp the # at 14dpo was over 130 and then dropped to 86 at 16dpo when I lost it, so I'm worried that now the same thing has happened. I also had a terrible back ache all weekend which can indicate a loss (although I don't know if it's too early for that to cause back pain). 79 just seems very low to me. I couldn't test at 14dpo b/c it was a weekend I'm just hoping it's lower b/c this was a FET and I've heard that sometimes #'s are lower with a frozen cycle. Ugh, this is nervewracking and I'm afraid to feel happy about this because I always get bad news. Nothing for me to do but just wait and bite my nails now...

If FET's tend to have lower betas then that is also in your favor I understand that you are scared to be happy yet. The best you can do for now, for the next 48 hours, is just take care of yourself and think good thoughts for your little bean. If possible, do something relaxing to try and relieve the stress you are feeling.

I wasn't able to post until now b/c I am so devastated...the HCG dropped to 70 on Wed. This is another loss. This was our last hope and I'm really anguished and having a hard time coping. I know with time things will feel better but right now the grief is overwhelming Noone should ever have to go through this

I am so sorry, big big hugs to you. Please take care of yourself and allow yourself all the time you need to grieve. You mentioned that this was your last hope, are you not able to try again at some point?

Thanks, no, we are out of insurance coverage and out of money. I've been undergoing IF treatment for several years nows (3 iuis, 4 IVFs, 1 fet and 5 babies lost to miscarriage early on) and I'm now 40 so my chances are pretty dismal if we tried to continue. I just can't live like this anymore either. I know there are other other options available out there (adoption, donor egg), but right now things just seem v. bleak.

Has your doctor given any reasons for the loss again?

If at some point you felt like trying again, there's also the INCIID scholarship program that you could apply for.

No, I haven't spoken to him yet, but it occured around 16dpo so it's too early to find out. He will say chromosomal problems, just like with the others

I guess the next step would be to do the "PGD" thing when there are recurrent losses? I don't know much about it but I believe they test the embryos before transferring them.

But I know that doesn't help any right now and the pain that you are going through...

We already discussed that with the RE 3 cycles ago...he does not recommend it b/c 1. the embie could be damaged by the biopsy, 2. the test only can check for a limited # of chromosomal problems and could mistakenly diagnose an egg as normal when it's not and abnormal when it is and 3. It's SUPER expensive and we don't even have the money or emotional energy to do more IVFs My RE said the only time he does PGD is when there's a known genetic problem or history, then they will screen for it with PGD, but for someone like me, who is 40, you don't need PGD to figure out a chromosomal problem is most likely to blame since all other testing has been normal

I know it seems like there are no (or bleak) options at the moment but I hope in time you will find something that will bring you to your ultimate goal of being a mommy.
